We longed to be part of a group. Then, we discovered our identities. No longer do we seek the comfort of others. Instead, we want to be distinguishable, different from everybody else. We ached to be appreciated for who we are.
As we get older, we learned to reconcile our independence with our social nature. Not only do we find peace in the quiet moments, but we also appreciate others in the shared moments. Finally, we are happy. Although we may not always be with our loved ones, we can always carry them in our hearts. As such, we may come to the world alone, but we never leave it alone.
