Go, go alpine!

Never thought I would say this in my life, but I am aspiring to be an alpine tree. Although I am not a tree hugger, I do admire this tree's ability to spring back into life. Let me explain what I mean by that.

Alpine trees burn like any other tree, but these tenacious trees, come back bigger and stronger after the near death experience. Here's how this works. Many alpine trees make up an organism. While these trees are alive, they secret a hormone that prevents the tree from expanding. Whenever there is a fire, some of these trees are killed. Since dead trees can't secret hormones to inhibit the organism's growth, the organism blossoms as a consequence. In fact, the alpine trees need the fire to grow. Otherwise, other trees can kill the alpine trees simply by crowding them out of sunlight.

So I long to be as daring as an alpine tree to come back tougher than ever after the challenges in my life. Go, go alpine!
