Learnings about Bollywood

By now you should know that I am indecently obsessed with Indian films and a certain actor, but that's neither here or there. But who can blame me? As I have always been a sucker for musicals ever since I saw "The Sound of Music" at a tender age of 7. Believe it or not, I have actually gathered some insights from watching these films, and here they are for your perusal.

  • These actors and actresses have awesome figures... the guys are buffed, and the girls have hour glass figures... and the guys show it off in every film with some sort of see thru shirts. And yes, I do mean each and every film...
  • Although there are songs in every film, they are not sung by the actors and actresses... its actually rare that an actor sings his own songs...
  • Most of these films do not take place in India...
  • As for the elaborate dance sequences, I was told that the actors and actresses learn them right before the scenes were shot... which means no lessons... amazing isn't it...
  • Not to mention wind, which is present in every film... I don't mean a gust of wind, rather a gentle breeze that fluffs the character's hair, clothes, you name it
  • Although there is no kissing on the lips, they leave feathery kisses on the ear, face, neck, and shoulder regions... which is funny to me... because aren't some of them erogenous zones?
I always feel very lucky after watching these films, lucky that I am able to exercise my free will as well as my freedom of choice. Don't get me wrong, I respect their culture and tradition... but I also believe that life is how you make it... and its my life... and I am responsible for my choices.

Frankly, when Aftab and I first got together, I was worried about the fact that we are different...
Over the years, I come to appreciate our uniqueness. Most of the times, I forget about our differences... until someone brings it up to me, like the indian posse in grand canyon. I find it amusing actually. I wished they asked us about it... because i have the perfect answer for them. O well, maybe next time.
