Ame ga futte imasu ne

That's about all I remembered from my two years of Japanese... yup, quite sad. So the raining season kicked off on Thursday, and as always, I sensed its presence b/c i got up late that day. For some reason, I always sleep in on rainy days.

This weather reminds me of Taiwan, which makes me sad as I won't be going back this year. Rest assured that I won't be sitting around... as its rare that I sit around and twittle my thumbs.

We went and picked up some goodies on that day. Indian movies, snacks, you name it. I even tried pam - which is a beetle nut leaf snack. I apparently had the instant kind, as the leaf was already shredded. The traditional kind's got the whole leaf thing going. The taste is interesting... as its got rosewater, which I associate with... soap. We might even try and get the real kind this weekend in Fremont.

Then, we chilled at home while watching a movie... which is nice because its been a whirlwind. Finally finished all the scheduled interviews... just five face to face interviews... but i still needed to prepare for them. Believe it or not, I actually enjoyed doing the research... i know, i am quite the nerd.

In the midst of all this, i caught a cold... although it was not mind-blowing, it was annoying... i also went to a sleepover at a girlfriend's place... where she prepared dinner for another gf and i from scratch... she whipped out two kitchen gadgets for two dishes... and i am not talking about can opener. Yeah, you betcha i was impressed. Man, that cream of mushroom soup was to die for... Not to mention downing that with some rice. Yeah, it hit the spot alright.

So the rest was quite well-deserved, if i may say so myself. I did squeeze in some minor home improvement... put up some wall decor and all... and even tried out some new recipes... turkey taco was a hit! that's what i heard, at least.

So what's for this weekend? Family reunion... at an undisclosed dinner location today. That's my family for you. If we get around to it, cell phone research on Sunday... we are so looking forward to ditching the razor... you have no idea.
