I was fortunate enough to spend this weekend in the city. On Friday, I joined the girls for dinner and dancing (check out Tammy's bday). Then, I stayed over at Ajantha's. As usual, we stayed up talking... about religion and travel, I think. Sorry, Friday was a bit of a blur.
On Saturday, Ajantha left for her dragon boat practice. As for me, I spent awhile lying in bed, and then I got up and rummaged her place for food. Come on, I can't break that fine tradition. After Ajantha came back, off to the Cash & Carry Fair we went (thanks, Lilian!)
It was a beautiful day, despite the fact that we spent most of it indoors. First stalls we saw were filled with jewelry. I was so blinded by the sparkle that I had to flee from its existence. That is saying alot coming from me. I was mesmerized by some of the silver chain necklaces. But Ajantha wasn't impressed, so we moved on.
We started loosening the purse strings when we got to the Japanese sock stall. You do know about Ajantha and her socks, no? What's so special about these? Well, they are forked... like flip flops, you know. I really wanted to buy thigh highs with bone designs, but Ajantha denied my request again. So I got sparkly, argyle and bow adorned socks instead.
Then, I hit jackpot with hello kitty headbands and rings. Let's just say that I bought more than I can fit on my head and fingers. I do have sisters that share my interest, you know.
We saw some innovative stuff that peaked our interest. For instance, Ajantha bought this spring action bicyclist toy for her nephew, and I was intrigued with a leather bracelet. Besides these two items, we did make an unexpected purchase. Its basically bible verses on stickers... that you can stick on virtually anything? Why, you might ask. Let's just say that we did it to repay the vendor's kindness and spirit.
Although we were enchanted with the lavendar booth, we didn't buy any products. Me thinks is because we were feeling a little guilty from all our indulgences earlier. Although that didn't stop me from going overboard at the scarf stall, which was the last stall that we visited.
What's funny was our influence on each other. Ajantha got scarves because of me, and I got socks because of her.
Afterwards, I begged Ajantha to go eat with me. She gave me an excellent recommendation (avocado + lettuce + tomato sandwich), which was delish. I wolved it down while she demo-ed our loot. Some of us had to eat, you know. I must have exerted myself more than I thought during shopping... because I came home exhausted... but for a good cause.
All in all, another wonderful day...
O! I didn't explain the pix. This pix was taken by Lei during dinner, and I was attempting to do a Tammy pose. Did I make you proud, Ms. Tammy?

I would have DEFINITELY gone crazy at the lavender stall...you know me and lavender!!!!! :)
Your purchases sound SO FUN! Especially those crazy cool socks. I wish I had just one pair to sport around the house for Roy :) I think he'd get a kick out of them.
