I had a horrible interview in San Mateo last week. The interview lasted 2 hours. It started with brain teasers, which I was okay with. Then, I had to do the SEM exercises, with and without numbers.When I realized that I had to employ quadratic equations to solve the problems, I was no longer smiling. In fact, I was so tormented about my lack of mathematical aptitude that I suffered the one hour drive home in 74 degree weather without the AC.
All this could have been avoided if whoever that wrote the rec could have man'ed up and said that the company was looking for someone with SEM experience as opposed to an online marketing analyst with 2 years of marketing experience. You betcha bibby I have blacklisted that company, along with that whole area from my job search.
