I succumbed...

to my bf's pleading, and we watched Avatar in 3D last night. I was hesitant because I don't like watching not as pretty animations. That's why it took me so long to watch Wall-E as well.

Overall, not bad. I like how the story had a plot, and the CGI enhanced, rather than stole the main show. I was curious about what inspired James Cameron to produce this film.

Then, I realized that he has always been intrigued by other-worldly stuff. Side note, I never saw Aliens because I thought it was scary and ugly. I know, I am such a girl. I do believe that James Cameron must have watched some anime himself, as there were some memorable scenes from the anime in the movie. For example, how the mother tree used tentacles to heal the wounded. Forgot which anime it was, but the animals used their tentacles to heal their beloved princess. Also the strong environmental theme.

O! I finally figured out the name behind the mother tree. Its akin to mother earth, like how we are all connected. A butterfly flaps its wings in Japan, and you know the rest.

The 3D glasses were still uncomfortable, but not as much because I wore contacts. They do look rather 80s. Funny eh, to experience the 3D effect, we have to go backwards by wearing these dated lenses.
