A word of caution: brace yourself before reading this.
My dad spent this week in the hospital due to surgery related issues. He was discharged last night. I spent most of this week with him. There were two things that frustrated me, 1) how my dad doesn't take care of himself even today, 2) how my sisters expected me to be in the hospital.
My dad is extremely cost-conscious. He spent 5 days in dire pain because he doesn't want to spend the money to see the doctor. Then he ended up in the ER, and stayed in the hospital for almost a week. Even now, he doesn't heed the doctor's words. When we remind him about it, my dad said that we misheard what the doctor said.
My sisters expected me to take care of my dad, although one of them had this week off. When I said I had to go home, they questioned me. What do you have to do? You are not even working. My original plan was to go home yesterday afternoon. After finding out my plan, my sister left me a long message, telling me to change it. You can do it because you are strong, were her final words.
Here's what I learned: My sister is a *itch, and I will never work with my family and friends. Heck, I am even open to moving out of the area so my sisters can pull their own weight.
