Blink of the eye

Last week was a bit strange for me, as I was a victim of a robbery on Thursday afternoon in downtown sf amidst a crowd of people. I recall reviewing a pix I just took on my iphone. Then a robber came up from behind me, snatched my iphone away and took off running.

I was stunned. I remembered thinking, are you kidding me. Then, I too, took off running after the robber while screaming for help. Three blocks later, I was out of breath and the distance between us was growing. Although a good samaritan joined the chase, we never caught up to the robber.

Thanks to my shouting, there were police on the scene so I was able to file a police report. They were very kind, actually. We walked to the apple store to see if I can replace my phone, and found out not without a hefty fee. I ended up paying for a plastic piece of junk at the ATT store.

I called my bf to let him know what happened. He came and got me right away. I spent the next day filing credit alerts and changing my account passwords. And replaced my iphone despite the hefty fee. I refuse to live my life in fear. A big thank you to the apple store staff for being so understanding and helpful, unlike the ATT folks. Thank god for itunes, because I was able to restore my new iphone to the old iphone right down to the contacts.

Yesterday, I went out by myself. Yes, I was scared. But it turned out fine. My muscles are still sore from the run of my life, but I am okay. Things are back to normal.
