Private thoughts

I am not very big on politics. However, I don't live in a cave, and can't help getting caught up in the current state of affairs. Read on for my pondering.

  • The rescue plan: I believe that we need a rescue plan to help with the current financial crisis. What I can't believe is that the number is a product of SWAG, and there doesn't seem to be any rules to govern what the banks should and should not do with that money.

  • Tax cut proposals: Can somebody refresh my economic memory? As I recall, simply handing out tax cuts to big corporations doesn't stimulate the economy. Case in point, the oil companies. Somehow, someone seems to think that will get us out of a recession.

  • Ms. Sugar Plum: It irritates me too much to mention her by name. What I don't understand is this, how could you not know what is one of your teammate's accomplishments? Not to mention that being the governor of Alaska for a year and a half does not make you an energy expert. You should, however, know that Alaska is not America's homeland. Thanks to you, I am not embarrassed of being a woman. Its like a double whammy. I can't run for office, but yet have to suffer the sight of you running for it.
Bugger.
