“What’s In a Diva”
We call ourselves Divas. Well, what does that really mean? Are the Divas prima donnas - full of spit and fire, travel with their own entourage, and exclaim, “That’s Hot” while being fashionably late?
Although we may have a big following of faithful, male wall flowers while we are tearing up the dance floor, the rest are not true. Today’s Diva in the City will attempt to demystify the Divas. Specifically, this article will focus on what is a Diva, and what are her defining characteristics.
To start off, let’s go over the definition of a Diva, as listed below.

Etymology: Italian; the feminine form of divus divine, god from Latin; Goddess
Usually refers to a confident, aspiring or successful woman with an unique taste in fashion
Examples: Power Puff Girls, Fergie, Gwen Stefani

¨ Letting Go: A Diva obtains closure, and leaves her baggage in the past where it belongs. After all, you can’t jet-set with all that luggage, right?
¨ Funny Girl: A Diva is able to laugh at herself, especially when she realizes that she is wearing mismatched shoes.
¨ Love Me Do: A Diva accepts herself completely. After all, how can she expect others to love her when she doesn’t love herself?
¨ Dream Big: A Diva invests her time in translating her dreams into reality. After all, why settle on what’s most important to you? Mucho kudos to our essential oil Diva!
¨ Just Try: A Diva conquers her fears by facing them head on. After all, why would she be content with living a discounted life full of self-imposed restrictions?
¨ No Apologies: A Diva stays true to herself. After all, we only got one life to live, right? So go on and strut in your pink feather boa, even if its not Halloween!
